Oklahoma: Frac set at vertical Woodford reentry

By OGJ editors
HOUSTON, May 12
– Evolution Petroleum Corp., Houston, plans a single-stage hydraulic frac in May 2011 at a vertical Woodford shale reentry well in western Haskell County, Okla.

The prefrac sales rate from the John Wells-1 well was 40-50 Mcfd of gas from the Woodford at 5,000 ft while dewatering, the company said.

While pooling acreage around a second Haskell County vertical test well, the company has deferred further testing of its Wagoner County, Okla., Woodford shale acreage. Evolution said it has been able to establish attractive production in one of the three Wagoner acreage blocks and elected not to renew leases on the other two.
