Carbon Energy starts flaring UCG syngas

HOUSTON, Apr. 4
-- Carbon Energy Ltd. started to send produced syngas from its Surat basin, southeast Queensland, underground coal gasification (UCG) Panel 2 to its main flare.

The project currently includes a horizontal injection well and a horizontal producer as well as a new process water facility.

Carbon Energy said commissioning will now continue to establish stable operations and consistent gas flow during the next 3 weeks.

The company said once it has achieve stable operations it will introduce the syngas to its 5-Mw power station, which will enable testing and commissioning of the gas engines.
