Seychelles: WHL consolidates block interests

HOUSTON, Mar. 1
– WHL Energy Ltd., Perth, has secured rights to at least 96% of 20,700 sq km in 35 exploration blocks in the Indian Ocean off southern Seychelles with the acquisition of Seyco Energy Pty. Ltd. and Seyco’s subsidiary Petroquest International Ltd.

WHL, which is discussing farm-outs with a number of potential partners, said the current offshore seismic survey is 71% complete with more than 98 of 122 sail lines acquired. Completion is on target for mid-April 2011.
