By OGJ editors
HOUSTON, Jan. 27
– HRT Participacoes e Petroleo SA, Rio de Janeiro, let a contract to Polarcus Ltd. for a 3D seismic survey on Block 2813A in the Orange basin off Namibia.

UNX Energy Corp., Calgary, which revealed the contract, and HRT each own a 40% share in the 2813 contract area. Acarus Investments (Pty.) Ltd., a Namibian company, owns 20%.

The joint venture plans to shoot 1,232 sq km of 3D seismic on the northern portion of the block. The program is an extension of UNX’s previously announced seismic program on Block 2713A, which targets a large feature with multiple identified zones including a subshale feature (OGJ Online, May 17, 2010).
