Magnum Hunter Resources Corp. has hired John K. Reinhart as president and CEO of the company. Reinhart has more than 22 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with the last 10 years focused in upstream exploration, development and production activities primarily in the Marcellus and Utica Shales in Ohio and West Virginia.
Prior to joining the company, Reinhart served as executive vice president and COO of Ascent Resources LLC from 2014 to 2016.
Prior to Ascent, Reinhart worked for Chesapeake Energy for eight years in increasing roles of importance, culminating in his role as senior vice president - operations and technical services from 2013 to 2014. Prior to Chesapeake, Reinhart worked for Schlumberger for 11 years in various engineering and operational leadership roles. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University in 1994.
Folllowing the company's emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May without former CEO Gary Evans, Magnum Hunter's CFO, Joseph C. Daches, and senior vice president of business development and land, Rick S. Farrell, served as co-CEOs as the company searched for a permanent sucessor.
