In memorium: Stephen Beasley (1951-2016)

Stephen Craig Beasley, who started his business career with FMC Corporation in the 1970s and retired from El Paso Corporation in 2007, died Sept. 13 at age 65 after battling cancer. He held numerous positions at FMC in sales, sales management, and marketing in the company’s Industrial Chemical and Petroleum Equipment Groups. In 1987, he joined Tenneco Energy, which was later acquired by El Paso Corporation. He served in a number of executive roles with Tenneco, including head of marketing and transportation services for Tenneco Gas Pipeline Company; director of marketing, sales, and communications for Tenneco Gas Marketing; vice president of Tenneco International Development; and vice president of marketing for Tennessee Gas Pipeline. He later assumed the role of president of El Paso Corporation’s Eastern Pipeline Group and served as a member of El Paso’s nine-member corporate executive committee. In this role, he served as chairman and president of Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company and ANR Pipeline Company. After retiring from El Paso in 2007, Beasley founded Eaton Group Inc., an executive leadership, strategic investment, and community philanthropy firm, where he served as CEO. He also served on the board of directors for numerous companies, including WGL Holdings Inc., SandRidge Energy Inc., and Space Services Holdings Inc. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Beasley; his son, Brad Beasley; his daughter, Kate Brock; and a host of additional family and friends.
