Seaport Global Securities promotes E&P analysts

Seaport Global Securities LLC has promoted three analysts. Matt Sorenson was promoted to senior vice president and senior E&P analyst, and Stephane Aka and John Aschenbeck were each promoted to vice president and senior E&P analyst. Under the leadership of Mike Kelly, Head of E&P Research, the E&P research team maintains coverage of over 50 exploration and production companies.

Sorenson joined the firm in 2013 after spending two years in the energy industry as a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting’s Strategy and Operations group. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Rice University.

Akaholds a bachelor's degree from Bellevue University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from University of California, Irvine.

Aschenbeck joined the firm in 2014 after spending nearly three years in the energy industry, working in accounting and finance positions of increasing responsibility with Weatherford International and Southwestern Energy. He holds an MBA from The McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of Houston.
