Total has made two appointments related to the succession of Philippe Boisseau, member of the Executive Committee, president of Marketing & Services, and president of New Energies, who is leaving the Group. Effective April 15, Momar Nguer, currently senior vice president of Africa and the Middle East, Marketing & Services, has been appointed president, Marketing & Services, and a member of the Executive Committee. Additionally, Total has named Philippe Sauquet, president, Refining & Chemicals, and member of the Executive Committee, as interim president, New Energies.
Nguer began his career in 1982 in Hewlett Packard France’s Finance Department. He joined Total in 1984, serving in various downstream positions. He was named vice president, Marketing, at Total Sénégal in 1985, and was appointed vice president, Retail Network and Consumers, of Total in Africa in 1991.
In 1995, Nguer became CEO of the marketing affiliate Total Cameroun and was subsequently named CEO of the marketing affiliate Total Kenya in 1997. In 2000, he was appointed executive vice president, Total East Africa and Indian Ocean, in Total’s Refining & Marketing business. From 2007 to 2011, he was vice president, Aviation Fuel, at Total Refining & Marketing.
Nguer has been senior vice president, Africa and the Middle East, at Total Marketing & Services since December 2011. He was appointed to the Group Performance Management Committee in January 2012, and as chairman of the Group Diversity Council on Aug. 1, 2015.
Nguer is a graduate of France’s ESSEC business school.
