NOV to close another facility, affecting 107 employees

National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NYSE: NOV) plans to close another facility, affecting 107 employees, according to Houston Business Journal, citing documents filed with the Texas Workforce Commission. NOV’s manufacturing facility in Baytown, Texas, is set to close between April 26 and May 7.

In February, Houston Business Journal reported that NOV planned to close a manufacturing facility in north Houston, and would be laying off 129 employees who work at the site. This facility was scheduled to close between May 31 and June 15. Job cuts began in late January and will be executed in phases.

In November 2015, NOV planned to close a support facility in San Angelo, Texas, affecting 120 jobs, according to Bloomberg. Closing of the West Texas facility was to be finalized in January. Earlier in 2015, NOV closed other Texas facilities, eliminating 85 employees in Houston, 150 in Willis, and 110 in Mineral Wells.
