BREAKING: Aubrey McClendon confirmed dead following car accident

Former Chesapeake Energy CEO Aubrey McClendon was killed in a car accident in Oklahoma City today, KFOR reported. Oklahoma City police officers confirmed McClendon’s identity. He was 56.

Responding to a car accident on Midwest Blvd. between Memorial and 122nd St., firefighters found a car had hit a bridge.

News of McClendon's death comes one day after a federal grand jury indicted the former Chesapeake Energy CEO on conspiring to rig the price of oil and natural gas leases in Oklahoma. Following his departure from Chesapeake, McClendon formed American Energy Partners LP.
