NOV to close Houston facility, eliminate jobs

National Oilwell Varco Inc. (NYSE: NOV) is in the process of closing a manufacturing facility in north Houston, and the company will be laying off 129 employees who work at the site, according to the Houston Business Journal.

The facility will be closing between May 31 and June 15. The job cuts began in late January and will be executed in phases.

Due to current market conditions, NOV, which makes oilfield equipment and provides oilfield services, has already closed other facilities and laid off employees.
