Morgan Lewis adds Gibbs to energy team

International law firm Morgan Lewis has added oil and gas attorney Kirstin Gibbs to the firm’s energy team. Gibbs, who joins as a partner practicing from both Washington, DC, and Houston, was a partner at another energy firm.

Gibbs, who focuses on regulatory issues and the regulatory aspects of transactions, represents pipelines, producers, traders, marketers, utilities, and end users in matters related to oil and gas sales, financial trading, transportation, and storage. She advises clients on US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission market participation, compliance, and enforcement actions, and on rate and policy matters involving natural gas and oil companies. Gibbs also provides transactional advice to major oil and gas producers and pipeline shippers and owners.

On transactional matters, she counsels global and US-based clients in connection with liquefied natural gas (LNG) issues, including supply, siting, and maritime concerns, as well as obtaining import and export authorizations from the US Department of Energy.
