OPITO names Gall as new managing director

Global oil and gas industry skills and workforce development body, OPITO International, has appointed Graham Gall as the organization’s new managing director to lead the growth of its international business.

Gall is the former managing director of Falck Safety Services in Brazil. He has almost 25 years of experience in the safety-critical oil and gas and aviation sectors, including a number of international leadership positions. Prior to joining Falck, he was also standards and approvals director for OPITO’s North Sea business and spent many years working across the UK for airport operator BAA.

Based in Dubai, he takes over the OPITO managing director role from Colin Griffiths, who stood down in July last year and will lead OPITO International’s drive for the adoption of common global standards in key energy markets around the world.

Funded by the oil and gas industry, OPITO strives to have common safety training standards accepted and adopted by the industry. OPITO works globally with governments, regulators, and industry to deliver safety training standards and workforce development frameworks.
