Noble to cut offshore drilling jobs

Noble Drilling (US) LLC, the US Gulf of Mexico division of London-based Noble Corp. (NYSE: NE), plans to lay off 100–120 employees following the closure of the Noble Danny Adkins drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico, according to various media outlets.

The layoffs are expected to occur during the last two weeks of March. The company says that some of the laid-off employees could be hired back if Noble Drilling secures a new contract for the Danny Adkins rig.
