Duff & Phelps adds Pawluck to Toronto Restructuring Advisory Practice

Duff & Phelps, a global valuation and corporate finance advisor, has added Brian Pawluck to the firm as a managing director in its Canadian Restructuring Practice. He will be based in Toronto, expanding a Restructuring Advisory presence for Duff & Phelps in Canada and broadening local access to firm-wide services.

“Duff & Phelps maintains core debt advisory, distressed mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and corporate restructuring services in Europe, North America, and Asia,” commented Bob Bartell, global head of corporate finance at Duff & Phelps. “Our Canadian restructuring and distressed-M&A teams provide regional expertise on international assignments, and also closely align with our global middle market M&A practices.”

Bartell noted that Pawluck has more than 30 years of experience focused on complex financial transactions and restructuring in the Canadian market in both private and public companies. Pawluck also has experience in the energy and oilfield services sector, in particular with special situations in Alberta. By combining forces with Ross Fletcher, managing director in Canadian M&A based in Toronto, Pawluck will augment Duff & Phelps’ Canadian presence in assisting financially distressed borrowers facing liquidity challenges in raising capital and refinancing their debt obligations.

Before joining Duff & Phelps, Pawluck advised companies, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors, and other interested parties in distressed situations and strategic buyers, pension funds, and private equity firms on the financial aspects of an acquisition. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Windsor, and is a chartered professional accountant, a chartered insolvency and restructuring professional, and a trustee in bankruptcy.
