Dresser-Rand to close Houston facility, lay off 72 employees

Dresser-Rand plans to close a North Houston support facility and lay off its 72 employees at the site, according to Reuters, citing the company’s notice to the Texas Workforce Commission.

The facility, located at 20120 E. Hardy Road, will cease operations by March 5.

Dresser-Rand was recently acquired by German industrial conglomerate Siemens, and, following the acquisition, Reuters noted that Siemens was streamlining operations, particularly in areas in which Siemens and Dresser-Rand overlapped.
