Cameron to close Houston facility, eliminate more jobs

Due to declining industry conditions, Cameron International Corp. (NYSE: CAM) will be closing its “Drilling Systems – Topsides Control Group” facility in Houston and eliminating approximately 55 jobs in the process, according to media outlets, citing Cameron’s notification to the Texas Workforce Commission.

These layoffs are expected to begin around Feb. 1, 2016.

Cameron has been streamlining its operations and reducing its personnel roster this fall. Schlumberger is in the process of acquiring Cameron, a transaction that is expected to close early next year.
