TPH and Latham & Watkins co-host private midstream companies mini-conference

On Nov. 4, Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. (TPH) and Latham & Watkins hosted a mini-conference for private midstream companies, titled “Raising Capital and Exploring Your Options.” With more than 75 attendees, the conference served as a forum for private midstream companies to hear from industry leaders on a range of strategic options.

Dave Pursell, head of Macro Research at TPH, presented an overview of the macro commodity price environment, along with his thesis on where oil and gas prices are headed. His session segued to a panel on the upstream landscape led by Gleeson Van Riet, CFO at Sanchez Energy.

Chris Abbatte, managing director of Riverstone Holdings LLC, and Rob Horn, senior managing director, GSO Capital Partners LP, discussed raising capital in a challenging commodity price environment and then putting this capital to work.

The next panel shifted the focus from the private market to the public market with commentary on preparing for an initial public offering (IPO) from Layne Christensen CFO J. Michael Anderson (former Southcross Energy Partners CFO).

A session on private midstream mergers and acquisitions (M&A) followed, and Ben Lamb, senior vice president at EnLink Midstream Partners LP, shared his thoughts on growing via acquisition.

Griff Jones, president and CEO at Twin Eagle Resource Management LLC, outlined his career and the building of Twin Eagle.
