Stewart & Stevenson appoints new chief executive

Stewart & Stevenson LLC has appointed Anthony James Davis as its CEO and as a member of the company's board of directors, effective Feb. 1, 2016. Davis will be based in Houston, Texas. He succeeds John Simmons, who has served the company as CFO and CEO, and is now promoted to vice chairman for financial affairs.

Currently headquartered in Singapore, Davis has led the Global Network and Marketing operations of Rolls-Royce Power Systems and serves as its corporate president of the Asia-Pacific Hub. He has also held a series of other positions at Rolls-Royce Marine including executive vice president for business development, executive vice president for commercial affairs, and previously at Rolls-Royce International as CEO and regional director for Australia and New Zealand.

Davis has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of New South Wales and a master's degree in computer science from the US Naval Post Graduate School at Monterey, California. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Melbourne Business School's Advanced Management Program. He is a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.

Stewart & Stevenson provides specialized equipment and aftermarket parts and service to the global oil & gas industry and other industries.
