Questar COO to retire

Thomas C. Jepperson, COO of Questar Corp. (NYSE: STR), has elected to retire, effective Jan. 1, 2016. Jepperson has been with Questar for 27 years, serving as the corporation’s chief legal officer since 2005. He was named COO in March.

Jepperson joined Questar in 1988 as an attorney for Questar’s exploration and production (E&P) subsidiary, Questar Exploration and Production Co. By 2002, he worked his way up to division counsel for Questar Market Resources, parent company of all Questar E&P operations. Three years later, Jepperson was named Questar Corp.’s vice president and general counsel.

Following the 2010 spin-off of most of Questar’s E&P affiliates, he was also named corporate secretary with responsibility for human resources, corporate audit, as well as environment, health and safety.

Questar is a US Rockies-based integrated natural gas company, operating through three principal subsidiaries:

  • Questar Gas Co. provides retail natural gas distribution in Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho
  • Wexpro Co. develops and produces natural gas from cost-of-service reserves for Questar Gas customers
  • Questar Pipeline Co. operates interstate natural gas pipelines and storage facilities in the western US and provides other energy services.

Questar is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah.
