Jordan Sands names Skilbred as vice president

Jordan Sands, an industrial sand mining and processing operation based in North Mankato, Minnesota, has named Brett Skilbred as vice president.

In his new role, Skilbred will help lead the strategic direction and tactical execution of the Jordan Sands operations including the resource development, mining, wet and dry processing, material management, rail fleet management, and process engineering.

Skilbred was previously director of resource development, where he was involved in the initial planning and implementation phases of Jordan Sands, including land acquisition, project design, permitting, and facility construction.

Previously, Skilbred served as resource director, director of quarry operations, and materials manager at Indiana Limestone Co. Inc. in Oolitic, Indiana. Skilbred earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer information systems from the Purdue University School of Technology in West Lafayette, Indiana, and also holds a Master of Business Administration degree in finance, operations, and systems management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington.

An affiliate of Coughlan Companies Inc., Jordan Sands was formed in 2011 to develop the Jordan Sandstone resource underlying the Coughlan Companies’ land holdings for emerging opportunities in the oil and gas fracturing sand market.
