Pine Brook, an investment firm focused on building businesses in the energy and financial services sectors, has promoted Nicholaos Krenteras to managing director, and also added Bharath Srikrishnan as a managing director. Krenteras and Srikrishnan will be focusing on Pine Brook's financial services investing activities.
Krenteras has been with Pine Brook since October 2006 and has 20 years of investment experience. He represents the firm as a director of Aurigen Capital Ltd., Syndicate Holding Corp., and The Car Finance Co. Ltd. Before joining Pine Brook, he worked for LabMorgan, JP Morgan's financial technology venture capital arm, where he was a vice president of portfolio development. Earlier in his career, Krenteras worked for Bank of America as an interest rate derivatives trader and as vice president of trading and business development for Pedestal Capital, a startup institutional brokerage for mortgage-backed securities. Krenteras holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Brown University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Srikrishnan joins Pine Brook from Five Mile Capital Partners and has 15 years of financial services investment and operating experience. As a managing director at Five Mile, he led the firm's financial services investment activities. Srikrishnan previously served as a principal of Lee Equity Partners, where he focused on making financial services private equity investments. Additionally, he was a co-founder and managing director of NewStar Financial Inc., a private-equity-backed middle-market commercial finance company. Srikrishnan started his career as an analyst in the Financial Institutions Group of Salomon Smith Barney and as an associate with Capital Z Financial Services Partners. He graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance, operations, and strategic management.
