Heerema secures second contract for work in Culzean field

Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) has been awarded an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the Culzean jackets for both the central processing facilities platform and the utility and living quarters platform. The client is Maersk Oil North Sea UK Ltd., operator of the Culzean field in the North Sea.

This represents the second contract that HFG has won for the Culzean project. In October 2014, the procurement and construction contract of the Culzean wellhead platform jacket, wellhead access deck, and access ways was awarded. As part of the contract, six pile sleeve clusters will be fabricated at Heerema’s Hartlepool facility in the UK, in addition to the wellhead access deck already under way at the yard.

Culzean is an ultra-high-pressure/high-temperature field now under development. It is one of the largest gas discoveries of recent years in the UK sector of the North Sea. Subsea 7 SA and SMOE Pte Ltd. have also both recently been awarded contracts for work on the Culzean field development project.
