Great Eastern Energy appoints new MD/CEO

Great Eastern Energy Corp. Ltd. has appointed Prashant Modi to its board as the company’s managing director and CEO, effective Sept. 22. Previously, Modi served as president and COO.

With this appointment, Great Eastern’s previous chairman and CEO, Yogendra Kumar Modi, will now serve as the company’s executive chairman.

Great Eastern is a fully integrated gas production, development, and exploration company in India, providing gas to the industrial region of West Bengal. Gas is being produced (coalbed methane gas) from the Raniganj (South) license area, which covers 210 square kilometers, with 2.62 tcf of gas in place.
