OMV appoints Pleininger as executive board member

OMV has appointed Johann Pleininger as its executive board member responsible for upstream, effective Sept. 1.

Pleininger will succeed Jaap Huijskes, who has decided to resign before the end of his mandate. In a press release, OMV stated that Huijskes is leaving the company “on the best of terms.”

Pleininger joined OMV in 1977, and, from 2007 to 2013, served as an executive board member responsible for exploration and production at OMV Petrom in Bucharest. Most recently, he has been the senior vice president responsible for the company's upstream operations in Romania and Austria.
