GulfStar appoints Swanson as new managing director

GulfStar Group has appointed Eric Swanson as the company’s new managing director.

Swanson comes to GulfStar with more than 16 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience that includes merger and acquisition transactions, debt and equity offerings, and corporate finance advisory. Immediately prior to joining GulfStar, Swanson was a member of Morgan Stanley’s investment banking group in Houston, where he spent eight years focused on the energy industry.

Previously, Swanson served on the Exploration & Production (E&P) Equity Research teams at Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase. Prior to that, he worked in the Gas and Power Marketing Group at ExxonMobil Corp.

Swanson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, along with a Master of Science degree in evaluative clinical sciences, from Dartmouth College. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
