PennTex Midstream Partners LP (NASDAQ: PTXP) has appointed Richard S. Walker to the board of directors of the Partnership's general partner, effective July 24. Walker is an independent director and will serve as chairman of the board's audit committee.
Walker serves as the managing partner in the Houston office of DHR International, a global executive search firm. Prior to entering the executive search industry in 2005, he was a managing director with JPMorgan, directing investment banking relationships with a variety of energy industry clients in the exploration and production (E&P), midstream, and power sectors. Walker worked with JPMorgan and its predecessors from 1994 to 2005.
From 1981 to 1994, Walker worked in the energy banking sector with predecessors of JPMorgan and Bank of America. Since 2007, he has served as a director and member of the audit committee of Venoco Inc., an E&P company based in Denver, Colorado, that was publicly traded until its going private transaction in October 2012, and has served as chairman of its audit committee since November 2012. Walker will complete his service with the Venoco board effective Aug. 1.
Walker holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Loyola University, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Bowling Green State University. He is a certified public accountant in the state of Texas.
