Fritz named president/CEO of MDU’s pipeline and energy services business

Martin A. Fritz has been named president and CEO of WBI Holdings Inc., MDU Resources Group Inc.’s (NYSE: MDU) pipeline and energy services business. His appointment is effective July 20. He succeeds Steven L. Bietz, who will retire July 17 after a 34-year career with the company.

Fritz had a 15-year career at EQT Corp., where he held a number of executive positions with both operational and functional responsibilities, including president of EQT Midstream Operations. He was the first leader of EQT’s midstream business unit and executed on a growth strategy in the Marcellus shale play.

Fritz has a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of Pittsburgh and a law degree from the Dickinson School of Law of Pennsylvania State University. His legal experience includes merger and acquisition (M&A), corporate, and securities law. He began his career with Ernst & Young and is a certified public accountant. He also is a graduate of the University of Idaho’s Graduate Utility Executive Institute.
