Magellan appoints new CFO

Magellan Petroleum Corp. (NASDAQ: MPET) has appointed Antoine J. Lafargue as the company's new senior vice president, CFO, treasurer, and corporate secretary, effective June 19, which is the date of Matthew R. Ciardiello’s resignation from those roles.

Lafargue has served as the company's senior vice president of strategy and business development and chief commercial officer since October 2014, and previously served as Magellan's vice president, CFO, and treasurer from August 2010 to October 2014.

Magellan is focused on the development of CO2-enhanced oil recovery (CO2-EOR) projects in the US Rocky Mountain region. The company also owns exploration acreage in the Weald Basin, onshore UK, and an exploration block, NT/P82, in the Bonaparte Basin, offshore Northern Territory, Australia, which Magellan plans to farm out.
