DNV GL appoints Svensen as Group EVP and Ørbeck-Nilssen as Maritime CEO

DNV GL has appointed Tor Svensen as group executive vice president. Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen will succeed Svensen as CEO of its Maritime business area. Both will report to incoming Group President and CEO Remi Eriksen, starting Aug. 1.
In his new role, Svensen will support Eriksen, with a particular focus on developing customer relationships and strategic projects for the DNV GL Group. Since 2003, Svensen has been CEO and president of DNV GL Maritime. Prior to this, he was the president of DNV Maritime, Oil and Gas.

Since 2013, Ørbeck-Nilssen has served as COO and senior vice president of DNV GL’s Maritime business area. He will now take on the new role as CEO and will continue to operate out of the Maritime headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
