CNPC discovers 100M tonnes of tight oil in Changqing field

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has discovered more than 100 million tonnes of tight oil in its Changqing field, said Reuters, citing company-run newspaper China Petroleum Daily.

Located in China’s Ordos Basin, the discovery represents the first Chinese tight oil discovery to surpass 100 million tonnes, although Reuters noted that technically recoverable reserves may be lower.
