DLA Piper makes two energy hires in Houston, with focus on oilfield services

Anthony Newton and Arthur Howard have joined law firm DLA Piper’s corporate practice as partners in the firm’s Houston office.

Newton and Howard focus their practices on energy and infrastructure projects and transactions, including general corporate, mergers and acqusitions, restructuring and recapitalization, and venture capital and private equity, among others. Newton works with oilfield services companies, while Howard also advises clients in other industries such as chemicals, offshore marine design and engineering, health care, technology, retail, and food and beverage.

Both lawyers join DLA Piper from K&L Gates. Newton received his LLM degree from Georgetown University Law Center, his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston, and his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University. Howard received his Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas and his Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern State University.
