Afren board proposes Linn as CEO

Afren plc’s board of directors has proposed former Roc Oil CEO Alan Linn to be appointed as the company’s new CEO. Linn will replace interim CEO Toby Hayward.

Linn is currently acting as a consultant to the board of directors. The board has agreed in principle for Linn to be appointed as Afren’s new CEO and as a director of the company upon completion of interim funding, which is expected to occur imminently.

Linn was the CEO of Roc Oil Co. Ltd. when the Australian oil and gas producer was bought by Fosun International Ltd. in August 2014. A chemical engineer with over 30 years of experience, he has also worked for Cairn India Ltd. and Tullow Oil Plc. Previously, Linn also worked with ExxonMobil for 15 years.
