AELP adds new executive members to team

American Energy Partners LP (AELP) has hired Scott D. Sachs as senior geoscience executive advisor, James C. Johnson as senior marketing and midstream executive, and Traci D. Cook as chief accounting officer.

Sachs previously worked for Chesapeake Energy Corp. as vice president of geoscience, leading exploration and development programs in the US Mid-Continent, Gulf Coast, Permian, and Rockies areas from 2005 through 2014. Prior to Chesapeake, Sachs spent 18 years at Marathon Oil Co. in numerous technical and leadership roles throughout the company’s international and onshore US portfolio. Sachs earned his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in geology from Bowling Green State University and the University of Texas at Arlington, respectively, and completed Rice University's Executive Leadership program. He also has served on the advisory board for the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and serves on the board of directors of Drilling Info Inc.

Johnson previously worked for Chesapeake Energy Corp. for 18 years as senior vice president of marketing and as president of Chesapeake Energy Marketing Inc. (CEMI) since 2000. During his tenure at CEMI, he helped its business grow to market up to 5.6 BCF per day of natural gas, 350,000 barrels per day of crude oil, and 150,000 barrels per day of NGL. At CEMI, Johnson was also responsible for securing gathering, processing, fractionation, and transportation arrangements necessary to facilitate the build-out of infrastructure in a variety of shale basins in the US. Before joining Chesapeake, he worked for 15 years in multiple land and commercial roles at Enogex Inc., Delhi Gas Pipeline Corp., TXO Production Corp., and Gulf Oil Corp. Johnson graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in petroleum land management.

Cook previously worked for Chesapeake Energy Corp. for 19 years, most recently as vice president and division controller for Financial Analysis and Reporting since 2006. During her tenure at Chesapeake, she played a role in its filing of over 70 public debt or equity offerings and the initial public offerings of Chesapeake Midstream Partners LP (later Access Midstream Partners LP) and the Chesapeake Granite Wash Trust. At Chesapeake, Cook was also responsible for corporate financial reporting, including SEC reporting, accounting process and data management, tax, and budgeting and forecasting. Prior to joining Chesapeake, she worked for six years at Deloitte & Touche as an audit manager. Cook graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. She is a certified public accountant.
