Tamarind Energy appoints Aston as vice chairman

Tamarind Energy has appointed Ron Aston as vice chairman of the company. 

Aston recently retired from Talisman Energy, where he acted as senior vice president and country manager of Malaysia. He has held senior financial and general management roles with operators in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Myanmar, including Conoco, Cities Service, Elf Aquitaine (Total), and Premier Oil. Aston has also acted as president of the Indonesia Petroleum Association.

Aston holds a degree in economics and politics from the University of Leeds, and is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD, Fontainbleau, in France. He is a chartered accountant and a distinguished member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales (ICEAW).
