Clayton Williams Energy names new president

Clayton Williams Energy Inc. (NYSE: CWEI) has named Mel G. Riggs to succeed Clayton W. Williams Jr. as president of the company, effective immediately. Williams is chairman and CEO of the company.

Riggs has been with the company since 1984, serving as executive vice president and COO since 2010 and previously as senior vice president and CFO since 1991.

Clayton Williams Energy Inc. is an independent energy company located in Midland, Texas.
