Champlin appointed president of Permasense Americas

UK-based Permasense, which provides integrity monitoring solutions for the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, has appointed Tom Champlin as president of Permasense Americas to head up the company’s new Houston-based operation – the first Permasense location outside the UK.

Champlin joins Permasense from Nalco Champion, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in business development, marketing, and sales in the downstream oil and gas industry. In this new role, Champlin will be responsible for driving new business, developing existing client relationships, and building a local team to service the Americas region.

Peter Collins, CEO at Permasense, commented, “The Americas represents an exciting prospect for Permasense to significantly expand its reach as part of our ongoing global growth strategy. As the energy capital of the US, Houston makes perfect sense as our first location outside the UK; we’ve been active in the region for a number of years, but our new office will enable us to provide on-the-ground support in our fastest-growing market."

The North America market currently accounts for 40% of the company's revenue.
