YPF signs shale exploration agreement with Petronas

Argentina's YPF has signed its $550 million agreement with Malaysia's Petronas for shale exploration in Argentina’s large Vaca Muerta shale formation, according to Reuters. Located in the Neuquén Basin, the Vaca Muerta formation covers 30,000 square kilometers.

Petronas will invest $475 million to develop 35 wells, with YPF providing the remainder of the investment.
