Urals Energy appoints interim CEO

Urals Energy

The board of Urals Energy (AIM: UEN), an independent exploration and production company with operations in Russia, reports that Sergey Uzornikov, the Group’s CFO, has been appointed as interim CEO. Uzornikov will not be appointed as a board director of Urals Energy. The board has begun its search for a new CEO.

This news follows the announcement of the resignation of CEO Alexei Maximov, effective Oct. 31. Maximov also stood down as a director of the company on that date.

Leonid Dyachenko and Aleksey Ogarev also indicated to the board on Oct. 31 that they intended to stand down as directors of Urals Energy once appropriate replacements have been identified and appointed.

The board is in discussion with Adler Impex SA, currently the largest shareholder of Urals Energy, about the appointment of two new directors of the company.

Ingeborg Srenger (non-executive director), Stephen Buscher (non-executive director), and Andrew Shrager (chairman) will remain in place on the board.
