Cairn India to seek out North American oilfield services companies

Cairn India

After announcing the appointment of its new CEO, Mayank Ashar, Cairn India is set for a roadshow to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and then to Houston to tap into oilfield services companies offering technology and technical solutions.

With Canada being a major hub for oilfield services companies that have made significant advancement in terms of providing oilfield technical solutions, Cairn India says it wants to optimize India's biggest onshore oil field in more than two decades by sending representatives to an upcoming vendors' meeting in Calgary to interface with North American oilfield services companies regarding this major oil and gas development.

Ashar’s appointment as Cairn India's managing director and CEO is effective Nov. 17. With more than 36 years of diverse experience in the international oil and gas industry, the company says that analysts assert Ashar is the right choice to lead Cairn India to higher levels of growth, especially with his past experience of working in Canada.
