Independence Contract Drilling names HR exec

Independence Contract Drilling Inc.

Independence Contract Drilling Inc. (NYSE: ICD) has appointed J. Scott Thompson as senior vice president of human resources and administration. 

Thompson brings more than 20 years of industry experience in the energy sector and human resources. He will have a senior leadership role in the execution of ICD's goal to aggressively increase its fleet size and operations over the next several years.

Prior to joining ICD, Thompson served as director of learning and organizational development, Strategy and Compliance, at Noble Energy from 2012 to 2014, and as vice president of operations at a subsidiary of CARBO Ceramics from 2009 through 2012. Before this time, Thompson had positions of increasing responsibility in human resources and administration at Schlumberger, Hanover, and NATCO Group.

Independence Contract Drilling was formed in November 2011 and provides land-based contract drilling services for oil and natural gas producers in the US. The company constructs, owns, and operates a fleet of ShaleDriller rigs.
