Santrol, a Fairmount Minerals company, has opened its eighth proppant terminal in the Permian Basin as part of the company’s continuing strategy to enhance customers' proppant transportation efficiency. The new Carlsbad, New Mexico, rail terminal is serving the western part of the basin.

"Our terminals now circle the Permian Basin, one of the most important oil and gas resources in the US," said Tom McCoy, director of terminal management for Fairmount Minerals. "With this strategic location of proppant throughout the basin, our customers can source product closer to the wellhead for improved logistics."

Santrol's seven other Permian Basin terminals are:

Big Lake, Texas – Rail terminal facility with access to Interstate 10 and Interstate 20, serving the southeastern part of the basin

Kermit, Texas – Rail terminal facility with access to State Highway 115, serving the south central part of the basin

Monahans, Texas I and II – Rail terminal facility with access to Interstate 20, serving the southwestern part of the basin

Odessa, Texas – Rail terminal facility with access to Interstate 20, serving the south central part of the basin

Slaton, Texas -- Rail terminal facility with access to State Highway 84, serving the northern part of the basin

Sweetwater, Texas -- Rail terminal facility with access to State Highway 70, serving the eastern part of the basin.

Santrol's proppant distribution network now includes more than 50 terminals throughout the US in all of the major conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon basins.
