Shields returns to Millennium Pipeline as president

Millennium Pipeline Co. LLC has named Joseph Shields as president of the company, replacing Rocco D'Alessandro, who served as Millennium's president since May of 2012. D'Alessandro has decided to retire and relocate to the Chicago area.

Shields returns to Millennium after serving various senior leadership roles at NiSource's (NYSE: NI) Columbia Pipeline Group (CPG) – with responsibilities in business development, customer service, operations, regulatory and marketing areas.

Prior to joining CPG, Shields served as president of Millennium. Prior to that, Shields previously served as executive vice president and COO of New Jersey Resources (NJR). He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Stockton State College and has completed the Changing the Game: Negotiation and Competitive Decision Making program at Harvard Business School.

Millennium Pipeline is a New York based interstate natural gas pipeline serving the Northeast. Millennium is anchored by its customers National Grid, Consolidated Edison of New York, Central Hudson Gas and Electric Corporation and Columbia Gas Transmission LLC. It is jointly owned by affiliates of NiSource Inc., National Grid and DTE Energy.
