DNV GL names regional manager for UK and Southern Africa

Hari Vamadevan has been appointed as DNV GL’s regional manager for UK and Southern Africa. Vamadevan was previously DNV’s UK regional manager, and the new role will see him head up 13 oil and gas related offices throughout the UK. The number of staff in the country has doubled from 400 to 800.

The addition of Southern Africa to the region brings opportunities to transfer the knowledge and technology from the UK Continental Shelf to areas such as Angola, Nigeria, and Ghana, as well as in newer developments in Mozambique and Tanzania.

Among its offerings to the industry, DNV GL operates the Spadeadam test site in the north of England (which is equipped to carry out large and full-scale hazardous trials on oil and gas assets, simulating real-world environments) and a flow-measurement and control facility at its Flow Centre in the northeast of England.
