SCF Partners invest in Oil Patch Group

SCF Partners has made an investment in Houston-based Oil Patch Group Inc.

Oil Patch, a provider of rental equipment and services to support oil and gas drilling and completion work, has operations throughout Texas, North Dakota, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas. The company, led by Jim Elzner, focuses on accommodation and support services, downhole drill pipe and tubular rental products, and production testing and flow back. Elzner and other key members of Oil Patch’s management team have reinvested in the company alongside SCF and will continue to run and build the company going forward. Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

David Baldwin, managing director at SCF, commented, “Jim and his team have built a terrific specialty rental company, with operations in all of the major shale basins in the United States. We are very excited to assist in the next phase of the company’s growth, both internally, and into other related specialty rental offerings.”

Jim Elzner, CEO of Oil Patch, stated: “SCF Partners has a proven track record of helping build strong oilfield companies in the industry including Varco, Oil States, Complete, Forum, and Rockwater.  We are excited about partnering with SCF to build a broad specialty rental company to meet the future needs of our clients.  With our new partnership, I am confident that we are going to continue to build on our strong foundation.”
