Geotrace offers RiskRes risk analysis technology

Geotrace Technologies Inc.

Geotrace Technologies Inc., which offers high-resolution E&P solutions to the oil and gas industry, has launched RiskRes, a new high-resolution risk analysis technology designed to provide a probability assessment of drilling a reservoir within certain rock and fluid properties by a statistical means.

RiskRes reportedly minimizes risk by detecting specific points that meet criteria derived from previously acquired data, and provides a competitive advantage for upgrading a prospect, increasing drilling success rates, and assisting with well planning, design and drilling.

RiskRes technology is proprietary to Geotrace and includes a rigorous workflow including, but not limited to, signal-to-noise enhancement, resolution enhancement and inversion. RiskRes is the newest addition to the company’s drilling services portfolio.

Based in Houston, Geotrace is a reservoir services company that assists clients in maximizing the value of subsurface information, increasing understanding of rock and fluid properties, and decreasing drilling risks through the use of a suite of software tools that integrate geophysical, geological, petrophysical, and engineering production data to image and define relevant properties of land, marine, and transition-zone reservoirs.
