Limbacher named CEO, director of Samson Resources

Samson Resources Corp. has appointed Randy L. Limbacher as its new CEO and president, effective April 18, 2013. Limbacher will also join the company's board of directors concurrent with his joining the company. Limbacher most recently was with Rosetta Resources Inc. (Nasdaq:ROSE) where he served as chairman, CEO and president from November 2007 to until February 26, 2013.

Randy LImbacher joins Samson Resources

Limbacher has 32 years of experience in the exploration and production business, both domestically and internationally.

"Randy is a proven leader in the oil and gas business, and we're thrilled that an executive of his caliber and with his background will be leading the team at Samson. He has an outstanding track record of building companies, and we are confident he has the right credentials and experience to lead Samson in its next stage of development and growth," said Claire Farley, acting CEO of Samson, member of the Board of Directors, and Member of KKR.

Limbacher will be relocating to Tulsa where the company is headquartered.

Prior to joining Rosetta, Limbacher served as president, exploration and production – Americas for ConocoPhillips He joined ConocoPhillips as part of its April 2006 acquisition of Burlington Resources Inc., where he spent over 20 years.

Limbacher serves on the board of directors of CARBO Ceramics Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University.

Samson Resources Corp. is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company with core operating areas in the Rockies, Mid-Continent and East Texas.

On December 21, 2011, Samson Investment Co. was acquired by a consortium of oil and gas investors, including KKR, ITOCHU, Natural Gas Partners, and Crestview. Samson Investment Co. is now a subsidiary of Samson Resources Corp., the vehicle used to purchase Samson Investment Co.
