Bill Montgomery exits Goldman Sachs for Quantum Energy Partners

Bill Montgomery has joined Houston-based private equity firm Quantum Energy Partners as a managing director. He will work with Quantum’s management team to source, structure, and support investments and will join the firm’s executive and investment committees. Montgomery has 22 years of experience as an energy investment banker focused on the worldwide upstream, integrated, and oil service sectors.

Prior to joining Quantum, Montgomery was a partner in the investment banking division of Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he headed the firm’s natural gas resources group as well as its Houston office. He has focused on large-cap energy companies and advised on several landmark mergers and acquisitions in addition to leading efforts for his clients to raise an estimated $18 billion in equity capital.

Montgomery holds an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BBA from the University of Texas.
