Protheroe to lead Lloyd's Register Americas' energy business

Lloyd's Register Americas Inc. has appointed Regional Marine Manager Tim Protheroe to also lead the organization’s Houston-based energy business, effective July 1.

As the commercial links between the marine and energy sectors increase, Protheroe's appointment is expected to advance the development of the common strategies required to address the environmental and regulatory challenges faced by Lloyd's Register's clients.

Protheroe inherits the energy leadership role from Duco de Haan, who will relocate to the Netherlands to serve as the chief executive and managing director of the ModuSpec Group, a member of the Lloyd’s Register Group.
Protheroe joined Lloyd’s Register in 1992 and held leadership roles in London, Copenhagen, Miami and the Seattle marine offices before arriving in Houston in late 2003 to oversee marine business development in the Americas. He was appointed to his current role in July 2007.
