Chevron names Bennett treasurer

Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX) has named Paul V. Bennett vice president and treasurer, effective May 1, 2011.

Bennet joined Chevron in 1980 as a financial analyst in the comptroller's department. He assumed finance positions of increasing responsibility and was named vice president of finance, Downstream and Chemicals in 2009.

Bennett earned his bachelor's degree at Wesleyan University and his master's degree at the University of California, Berkeley. He replaces Pierre R. Breber, who has been appointed deputy managing director of Chevron's Asia South Business Unit in the company's international exploration and production business, which oversees Thailand, China, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
